SMUD asked Bongo to help them introduce their customers to SMUD’s new Time-of-Day Rate (TOD). TOD will be the standard for all residential customers going forward by shifting energy use to lower-cost, off-peak hours year-round.
Reducing peak energy use benefits our community because it lessens our need to build new power plants and purchase power at peak market prices. That’s good for both the environment and our pocketbooks.
The response has been met with a 92% approval rating from customers, a very high rating in this industry.
